The Rio Grande Joint Venture has identified 129 priority birds and several priority habitats across the three Bird Conservation Regions in our region. In the Chihuahuan Desert Bird Conservation Region, we focus on conservation of grasslands, riparian corridors, and wetlands. In the Tamaulipan Brushlands, we focus on conservation of grasslands and riparian corridors. And in the Gulf Coast Prairie Bird Conservation Region, we focus on conservation of the coastal habitats of the Laguna Madre ecosystem in Mexico.
